It has been fifteen long years since President Clinton signed “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” into law. Fifteen long years later, it is eminently clear that it is a failed policy.

With your support, Congress could soon admit that too.

On Wednesday, July 23, the House of Representatives’ subcommittee on Military Personnel will hold the first hearing on “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” since its inception.

We need to tell Congress that it is unacceptable to allow the military to openly discriminate against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans. Please sign this petition hosted by the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network and tell Congress how you feel.

Together we can finally have a military that truly reflects the freedom they’re fighting for.

No one willing to volunteer to serve and protect their country and fellowmen, sacrificing their lives in a time of war should have to sacrifice their right to be honest about who they are as a condition of their military service. "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is a discriminatory law and it is wrong.
