About the relationship:Tim and Jenny's relationship was a case of opposites attracting, with athletically-minded Tim proving an interesting (if unlikely) match for the artistic and eccentric Jenny. With Tim being away constantly for his work coaching a university swim team, Jenny felt lost and unsure of what to do with herself in her new life in a sprawling metropolis like LA. Niki Stevens How/Where they met: Niki auditioned to play the part of Jesse in Jenny's Lez Girls movie. Jenny didn't like Niki, saying that she didn't look like a writer, but more like a model who belonged on the cover of Maxim magazine. Jenny fought for actress Luchi Santis to be cast in the role of Jesse, but the producers of the movie had already hired Niki because she had another film that was set to open in theaters and she had 'heat' behind her. Later in the episode, Niki runs into Jenny at SheBar and lets it slip that she's gay. She persuades Jenny to go somewhere more private so that they can talk. In a more secluded area of SheBar, Niki tells Jenny that she feels a connection to the character of Jesse, but Jenny tells Niki that she doesn't care if Niki is gay - that being gay isn't what is going to get her the role. Talking with Tina, Jenny tells her that she feels that she couldn't be with someone who hid who they were the way that Niki does. She says to Tina that she feels people like that are 'pathetic'. At the Lez Girls wrap party, Jenny declares that she is madly in love with someone, and runs out to look for Niki, only to discover Shane having sex with Niki against a railing outside the venue. Jenny tells Shane that she has committed the "ultimate betrayal" and that she has "broken her heart". Jenny doesn't say a word to Niki or even so much as look at her, which only strengthens the argument that Jenny was not looking for Niki to forgive her, but to break things off with her properly and for good, face to face. Meets Tina Kennard and is invited to Bette and Tina's sperm donor party, where she is properly introduced to Shane McCutcheon and meets Marina Ferrer for the first time. Has an on-and-off affair with Marina. Marries Tim Haspel when her affair with Marina is discovered, but the marriage does nothing to repair the damage caused by Jenny's infidelity.

SEASON TWO HIGHLIGHTS:

Jenny's relationships with Gene and Robin both come to an end. Tim decides to move back to Ohio and allows Jenny to take over the lease. Shane moves into Jenny's house as a roommate and the two of them become very close friends. Becomes involved with Carmen de la Pica Morales, but eventually breaks things off to protect her friendship with Shane. Enrolls herself in a writing class and is challenged by the teacher, Charlotte Birch, to push herself when it comes to her writing. Has an emotional breakdown after discovering that roommate Mark Wayland has hidden cameras throughout the house, which leads to flashbacks of violent sexual abuse Jenny suffered when she was very young. Starts self-injuring and is discovered by Shane, who promises that she will get Jenny the help she needs.

SEASON THREE HIGHLIGHTS:

Convinces Moira Sweeney to travel with her back home to Los Angeles after being in Skokie, Illinois to recover from her breakdown. Writes book while in Illinois, entitled Some of Her Parts, detailing her history, the abuse she suffered as a child, her breakdown and eventual recovery. Supports Moira emotionally and financially as she adjusts to life in the big city and encourages her to explore the more masculine side of her personality. Receives a deal for her book from Simon & Schuster publishing house. The publishing company asks her to change the structure of the book from fiction to memoir, which leaves Jenny feeling vulnerable. Assists in Max's transition from female to male, despite the strain it puts on her relationships with Shane and Carmen.

SEASON FOUR HIGHLIGHTS:

Encounters Marina when she returns from Europe; refuses to participate in a threesome with Claude and Marina. Jenny's book Some of Her Parts is released and she does a book-signing tour. Begins a serial novella that is printed in New Yorker magazine. The novella is entitled Lez Girls and is a fictionalized account of her life and the lives of her acquaintances. Is courted by many movie studios for the rights to her novella. It is considered the hottest property in Hollywood. Is betrayed by Tina Kennard and fired from the production of the movie based on her novella.
