CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Actor Bio: Laurel Holloman was born on May 23, 1971 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Laurel said she grew up in a very loving, progressive household where her parents provided a supportive atomosphere where Laurel and her two brothers were raised to follow their dreams. Laurel's parents encouraged her to be whatever she wanted and helped her explore those things. She was in plays as a kid and was also a ballerina. But those artistic endeavors didn't stop Laurel's love of horses and she became such a good rider she rode them in horse shows and became a staple on the horse show circuit.

She transferred to New York University to continue her studies and became an exchange student studying acting in London at the British American Academy.

Laurel also studied with John Lynn in Los Angeles where she was cast in her first film role in David Orr's independent film, Blossom Time. She then moved to New York City in 1994 and enjoyed success on stage in various stage productions. In 1995, Laurel kicked off a successful independent film career with her break out role as the cute, charming, lothario baby butch, Randy Dean, in "The Incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls in Love" for which she won critical acclaim and became an icon for many lesbians.
