I was so happy to see Phyllis telling Shane to "take a hike" for her daughter's own good. Who would want their child hooking up with Shane??? Not me. Phyllis was great and I hope that we have more scenes with her and Joyce in season 6.

I love Phyllis because she, like many of us older women, grew to a stage her life where being successful and respected and married was NOT enough. I admire her and all the women she represents who make up their minds that they have to leap into their true selves. I admire that she is trying to be kind but truthful to her husband and daughter but not letting them change her resolve. I wish the show would develop her character more, not as such a whiny, comic silly woman but the show the true struggle she is going through with her new identity, with job, family, friend, lovers. Many of us don't come out till very late in life and we would love for the show to expore this issue more.
