Their neighbor's girlfriend Jenny (Mia Kirshner) moves in and once she starts mixing with Bette and Tina's friends, Jenny questionins her sexuality. Bette's sister Kim (Pam Grier) struggles with alcoholism while friend Dana (Erin Daniels) struggles with combining her secret life as a lesbian with her professional life as a tennis player. But Jenny is thrown off course when she meets The Planet's owner Marina at a party hosted by Tim's lesbian neighbours Bette and Tina; an art museum curator and a former entertainment executive who are seeking a sperm donor. As Jenny gives into her attraction to Marina, she becomes the focus of discussion amongst a lively circle of friends, including sexy hair stylist Shane, bisexual journalist Alice, closet case pro tennis player Dana and Bette's half sister, Kit, a recovering alcohlic and musician.
