What I've Learned From The L Word

In my case, I've learned, that you can became in love with a person, a singular individual person, no matter which sex he or she is. Normally, we are oriented to "became in love" with our opposites, so man-woman, woman-man, but the fact is that in the true world, feelings are -so true-, that you can love "any subject", and that's not wrong. Love each other is a commandament, there's no indication about if the subject must be a man or a woman ;) Thank's a lot,

    Favorite character: Bette Porter    		 Lesson learned: Control is not everything. I never once realized how being controlling takes a toll relationships. Bette made me realize that is not all about "me" at all times. Using big words intimidates people!!

    Reason to watch: Bette expands my vocabulary. She is also BEAUTIFUL and makes beautiful love to her lovers

    Favorite character:Shane McCutcheon, Alice Pierzecki, Dana Fairbanks    		 Lesson learned: I've learnt from Dana that though it's not easy coming out, we'd still have to overcome it and do so someday, because that's juz who we are inside.
    From Alice, to be more careful who we fall for, because it might affect friendships and hurt the ones we truely love.
    From Shane, to not commit into a relationship unless you're really sure that's the person you wanna be with and always be there for ur friends.
    From Bette and Tina, to listen to your partner's woes and solve things out by talking, not keep everything inside you.
    From Jenny, to not trust people easily (adele) though she looks harmless. there's always the case of wolf in sheep's clothings.

    Reason to watch: It's the best series I've ever watched (I don't mind watching each season over and over again), all the issues we faced in life are touched on and of coz, the ladies are ever so gorgeous and hot, Jennifer Beals, Laurel Holloman, Kate Moennig, Leisha Hailey, Erin Daniels, Sarah Shahi, Mia Kirshner and Rachel Shelly.

    I'm fixated on: The life of Shane as well as that of Alice. They are my faves, be it in the show or real life.

    Favorite character:     Jennifer Beals (Bette) and Laurel Holloman (Tina)    		 Lesson learned: Watching L Word is learning something that you never learned in school, its like an eyes wide shut to people who have problems of finding who they really are inside and out. I have learned from Bette's character that you can never be at high standard in every moment that you wanted to, you need to slow down sometimes to catch up somethings that you never know that you take for granted and I have learned from Tina of being a good mother, good friend, life for her is easy she never take things complicated, she is always ready to listen to Bette when Bette needs her the most. I have learned both from them that lesbian couple love for each other is real, lesbian couple aims for good life are really possible, and that they can spend their whole life with each other.

    Reason to watch: For me I watch L Word because every episode is interesting and that you can pick a good moral lesson.

    I'm fixated on: Bette and Tina for I believe that life is beautiful whether who you are with , what matters the most to me is LOVE.

True love is so rare and should be guarded with your very life. On the other hand, we are only human and shit happens. "And if you cannot spare each other pain, I wish you forgiveness".....

    Reason to watch: Fascinating story-lines that strike chords of my heart, amazing cast and crew, it brings air in the closet and helps you maintain sanity.

    Reason to watch: I love a show that can envoke every human emotion, love, anger, laughter, sex, passion, deceit, ecstacy, happiness, sadness and tears, it sucks you in and you are hooked, ride the wave!

    I'm fixated on: Learning from the lessons I've watched evolve on this show to be a more empathetic person and to pay more attention to "signals" - and most importantly to truly embrace the strong and awesome woman I am as a Lesbian. =o)

    		 Lesson learned: "Sexuality is fluid, and you just go with the flow", I've learned something really important is that, whether or not you're straight, gay, bisexual, transgender, or whatever, you have to be true to yourself.. and just be who you are.. "happiness" is the keyword to everything. I would really love to thank Ilene Chaiken, and showtime, as well as the wonderful and amazing casts that brought to we people this wonderful series of drama, they indeed did a fantastic job!! Although I only get to learn about "the L word" in 2008, but I do not think it's actually too late for me to know.. because at least.. I've glad to be able to learn about it now.. and I love the life and everything that the show teaches and shows... there's definitely a reason for everything to happen, and that we shouldn't judge people by just their sexual orientation or anything.. and of course to say.. we should respect each and every single human being for just being who they are...

    Reason to watch: Great storylines... wonderful and amazing batch of casts... a show no one should ever missed... and each every episode just makes you feel how real the show is and closely connected to one's everyday life...

    I'm fixated on: to live on every "L" word and ... to be true to oneself...

    Reason to watch: I anticipate watching The L Word every week. For the Gay community it is an amazing show that we can relate with. The cast members are amazing, and it really does make you look like the show is real, comforting, Loving, sexual, Everything a show could give. You don't know how many people's lifes this show has touched.

    I'm fixated on: Bette and Tina. They are absolutely great with one another. Their parts are so real I watch them over and over. The Love scenes between the 2 of them are wonderful, sexual, Loving, keeps you wanting to come back for more every week. It should come on as a series every night, now that would steam things up.

Though my relationship is extremely secure, and not ending anytime in the next 44 years. Allow your partner to be who they are and don't be someone you're not able to continue being throughout the relationship.

    Reason to watch: Makes for great Sunday night SEX!!! Great way to start the week.

    I'm fixated on: Long Locks, I have let my hair grow out this season, it is the longest it's been in 12 yrs. Had the butch cut now I've gone H-wood. Hey Ilene, how about an East Coast show.

    Favorite character: Jenny,What I've Learned From The L Word - The L Word    		 Lesson learned:Too many to express in this lifetime..I adored every minute I had with these women..this show has changed my life. In season one I to was with a man and after 9 years of marriage ...yes by season two we had split. I am now with my soul mate Bridgette the most interesting ,wonderful person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I believe this show helped me to come to terms with my true feelings and find the love of my life.

    Reason to watch: Wonderful story line,wonderful cast and any person can relate to the situations that happen on the show.

    I'm fixated on: Bette and Tina..everyone has their fav TV couples from Joanie and Chachi,Ross and Rachael etc....they are my favorite couple !

    Helena and Jenny     		Lesson learned: For me watching L word is a big help for those people who have problems of finding who really they are, what they really want and who they want to be with for the rest of their lives. When my friend told me about this lesbian movie. Ive been interrested so i grabbed a copy and buy a dvd episodes 1-4. I've finished watching it for 3 days and to tell u the truth im addicted to this movie. Its very interesting and ive learn a lot especially the scene of bette and tina.

    I've learned from bette's character is that sometimes u should learn how to mingle with other people and to understand others situation especially those who are close to you. As we all know, that we can never be at a high standard that you wanted to everyday of your life. At Tina's part, ive learned that she is a good friend and easy to be with. She is always there everytime you need her especially when your down, she's always there to comfort you and ready to give her shoulder to cry on. Like when Bette's father died.

    You should learn to love your life and live to the fullest part of it.. I LOVE SHOWTIME. GOD SPEED...

    Reason to watch: For me i watch L word b'coz it is very interesting, u will learn how to handle a relationship. U will learn good moral values and lesssons. And you will learn the importance of FRIENDSHIP and LOVE.

    Favorite character: Tina and Bette     		Lesson learned: I learned alot of things in every season of the show. What really help me is that tina and bette story is very similar on my experience with my partner right now, and so whenever I watch the show it is like a guide to me and it show me how to make a smarter decision in life.

    Reason to watch: I do not need any reason to watch thelword show because it is a great show. which should not end too soon like this.

L Word has reminded me over and over again how true this is and how you will never lose if you follow this principle. The same goes for the saying, " better to have loved and lost than to not love at all". Thanks L Word . You are indeed a good teacher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Reason to watch: I watch the L Word because it not just a show about lesbians but about LOVE, LIFE, LIFE'S MEANINGS, LOYALTY,LUXARY and lets not forget LUST. In other words L Word is about people and how they deal with their lives daily and it gives us hope in knowing that the show is as real as it gets.

      after watching the first ep, i started lookin at my own sexuality in a less stereotypical way. the l word taught me that anyone can be gay and that ppl do not fit into stereotypes. after seeing jenny, who looked so str8 and femme, realize she was gay, i had the confidence to think of myself that way. now im a big, happy dyke :P

      also, i guess i was always self conscious about lesbian sex and partially believed the bs about 'lesbian death bed;...after watching the l word i realized that sex is about so much more than body parts doing things to each other. it is about an attraction, a connection, even if it is really superficial, it is still real and powerful. besides, the more room one has to be creative while having sex, the better the sex will b.

      L word show is not only abt sex and hot kisses. it relate a person and character in you. It teach you How to associate, be more tender, flexible, caring and stay open minded toward love one's and public. Cos the world we stay in only temporary, it matter of time and all will be gone.

      After 5 seasons of this wonderful show(so far), I am asking you, dear friends, to speak of extra gains that have come into your life that , had you NOT had this show, you would not know you find precious and happy for. For example, had I not seen L word, I would have missed a You Tube video and the artist behind the songs, which was put here by a member. I went out right away and ordered the CD and now I play it all of the time. I'm very grateful for that. I have also learned that change can be done with time and effort from watching scenes about Bette and Tina and terms like "patience", "sharing in the midst of chaos" "keeping an open mind and heart", that are invaluable. to me. There's much more but that is my example. I believe we all have a book inside of us. So as not to forget, I have met some awesome people here that just had the same passion, to see something that was it's time in our gay and lesbian society. We shared. That's priceless.
