Jan 26 2008, 1:46 PM EST i've struggled with this for years now and after a lot of thought about staying in or getting out, i've realized that me having to hide who i am with is just another sacrafice that i have to make for my country. i cannot think of a better job for me and luckily, i have a girl that is also in and completely understands what we can and cannot do or say in public. 7 out of 7 found this valuable. Do you? |

It's sad, because even here in "the states" you find yourself hoping "they" don't ask so you don't have to tell. Now don't get me wrong, I'm very proud of who I am, and what I'm about, but I have to make a living too. So don't think your alone in your plight, we all do whqt we have to do! Jan 29 2008, 8:58 AM EST I think there is a misconception about lesbian and gay men and women ,which makes it tough in society ,It is the belief of may of my friends that being gay means you sleep who every you want to almost like shane to me would represent the person wo just goes for what feels good to her which is Sex .and for some thats what it is all about hence why I believe people have a "fear"of working with gays and lesbians they think and I going to get sick from being around them ,Now I how come to the realization that being in a lesbian relationship can be should be with one pesron a committed relationship ..and if that was potrait painted I dont believe there would be a need for the dont ask Dont tell Policy or a need for people to hide who they are ..I mean the only one anyone should fear is God if you believe in Him and what he thinks and feels about gay and lesbians ..although I think that is another topic in itself ..it can be tough in the real world just as it is in the military. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Apr 15 2008, 6:04 PM EDT I can concur with you. I to am in the military Army national Guard it really bothers me that I have to hide a HUGE part of my life. Granted most people in my unit now about me but still I have to be hush hush to most. My gurlfriend who is allso in knows how it feels to. I feel that if I was in Tasha's shoes I would of came right out and said yes I am gay. Then i would of said that I am out here fighting on the front lines with all of you fighting an die for the same reason as you. So it shouldnt matter what my sexual oreintations are. Then I would of said I am done with you people cause its just stupid that peple act like them when we are in the military. I mean we all sighned of for the same thing we are suppst to be battles not ememys. Do you find this valuable? |
