The beginning of the end for Jobette

I am so sad to see it coming to an end. I loved the goodnite kiss that Jodi and Bette shared in last nite's episode. It was so hot. I hated the scene where Tina and Bette kissed, but I am sure alot of Tibette fans are happy. Loved Tasha and Alice in last nite's episode, it is really touching to see how Alice is standing by Tasha during this rough time in her life.

I think the beginning of the end for Jobette happened in episode 1 of this season, with the tablecloth incident. My theory is that last season ended with Jobette reuniting in a big romantic gesture as a setup for them to be a couple this year, but the overwhelming negative reaction to them forced IC to go a different direction with season 5. Granted, some people liked them together and liked Bette with someone who challenged her more, but it does seem like the vast majority of viewers thought they had zero chemistry and just want to see the Bette-Tina happy ending they've invested 5 seasons in.Anyway, I think from episode 1 we've been given snippets of arguments and angst between Bette and Jodi, whereas they've ramped up the heat between Bette and Tina. My prediction is it's not going to be that simple though. Bette won't just break up with Jodi and reunite with Tina. There will be plenty of back and forth and indecision, possibly spanning the break and extending into season 6 if there is one. Ironically, in this episode when Bette and Jodi kissed in Bette's office, that was the first time I ever sensed any chemistry between the two at all. I hated that it was on the heels of an argument. Their arguing is getting tiresome and we never just see them having fun. But at least the kiss was somewhat hot. Not as hot as Bette and Tina though :) 13 out of 15 found this valuable. Do you? |

I absolutely loved the kiss between Tina, and Bette, I thought it was so hot and romantic. It gave me hope that they might get back together on the series, then I saw the clip of next weeks where Bette, seems to make small of the kiss. Frankly I was hoping that the series finally understood that in order to depict Lesbian life correctly, there are many couples who have successfull relationships.

I'm down about this. maybe i just get bored to see Tina and Bette all the time, and when they broke up and the gorgeous Marlee Maitlin came into the picture....i was doing cartwheels. That one moment when Bette is crying and kissing Jodi's hands...i was like whoa that is intense....and seeing these two real life friends working together like this has been great! I love their chemistry....i see those looks they give each other, and I like how real they make it. Granted it has taken a bit of time to develop this, but i think it's great. I am gonna miss Bette and Jodi...i hope they dont ruin it by letting Tina back into the picture.

i think bette and tina belong together and once they get back together, they will be hotter than ever!!! i can't wait - sorry Jodi - maybe you can hook up with Jenny or the heart doctor. I hope the writers don't make us wait too much longer though - I sm getting restless. :--)

Sadly I am at a disadvantage as I only got Showtime in early December so that I could watch The L Word. However, from what little I've seen so far, I too am saddened to see what appears to be the end of the Jobette relationship. I say this because I can see Jodi's attraction to Bette stems from the fact that Bette is such a very intelligent and pragmatic woman. Something else that caught my attention in the latest episode is the question Tina asked Bette which was "Are you in love with her?" (Jodi) just as the episode was ending. Since Bette didn't get the chance to respond immediately I'm lead to believe that her relationship with Jodi may not actually be over. Now I can't wait until next Sunday for the next episode.

I believe that Jobette was never meant to be. But it could be that i'm so obsessed with TIbette that i can't get past it. In the pilot episode i fell in love with that couple and i can't seem to enjoy Jobette as much. Jodi's character is true and raw and unique and I would hate to see her go. But from the tribulations Jobette has already gone though this season (including hte table cloth incidnet, the meeting jodi's friends incident, and the tibette kiss) i do believe their relationship is coming to an end but most likely a long, slow and painful end...

As I said before I like Jodi's character, just not with Bette, she brings a lot to the show. I don't think TiBette will be getting back together any time soon IC needs more time to play with us. TBetts kiss was the most passion I've seen on this yet. Tasha and Alice are next. It amazing that you can feel the chemistry of TBett and Tasha and Alice as if it were real !

The intensity of the KISS travels me emotionally to the break-up sex scene at the end of season 1. They so belong together!!! They love each other. A lesbian relationship does not have to lead to a dead-end!!! 9 out of 10 found this valuable. Do you? |

I so agree. Bette is going to try to make it work with Jodi, despite the fact that she still loves Tina. Remember the 1st season where Bette was so controlling and Tina just went along with whatever Bette's mood was. Doesn't it seem like Jodi is doing the same thing? Think about it, when Bette told Jodi she couldn't go with her to meet her friends for the weekend because of job thing, Jodi "didn't allow" her to back out and forced her into to going by saying that she's never taken anyone with her on those weekends. I didn't buy, but Bette pulled a Tina, believed her and blew off her work committment. At some point Bette & Jodi will end, but I don't see Bette going back to Tina at least not right away.

The goodnight kiss followed by Jodi signing- asking Bette to come with her to have sex. Bette being realistic and needing to stay at work late and saying I need to work late maybe tomorrow... Jodi says if you are lucky. Bette needs to get back with Tina.. Tina wouldn't say that. There relationship is really based around sex anyway.. I think that Jodi challenges Bette and makes her grow as a person by calling her on her control issues, Tina on the other hand was a weakling when it came to Bette. Since Bette and Jodi have been together we have seen so many different sides of Bette, with Tina she was just the same ole controlling Bette. I am also realistic enough to know that no relationship is going to perfect especially new relationships and therefore u will have disagreements, but what I like most is no matter how much Jodi and Bette disagree by the end of the nite they are kissing and laughing. The idea of two hot women who embody strength and intelligence turns me on because I can relate to them because of my personality. I loved Jodi's reply, "If you are lucky" because that is a a woman who knows her selfworth. I could go on and on about my desire for Jobette but unless u can relate to the understanding of the depth of a true meaningful relationship, my expressions are fruitless.
