20. RE: What do you think was going through Bette's mind watching Tina S

"If you wanna see the back story just buy the DVD"LOL Mawa20oct I have all of the DVDs... I meant I would love to know more of Tina's history, the part they only talk about. Tina had already quit her job in season one we have only heard about it. I wish they would show more flash backs of what her life was like before. From all the accomplishments Bette rolled off that night at the Planet Tina was really good at her previous job. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Bette has never liked Tina working, that might be whats taking her so long,Its like a different Tina.Shes not sure on how to approach her,now that she can stand on her own....Tina better be careful..She dont want to run in to the wrong one while shes out on the town...could mess it all up..She better stick with what she knows..Bette..

Remember when they went to see the srink Dan Foxworthy and Tina said we are having this baby I gave up my career to do this. There is no way Tina could have been that successful in the movie business unless she was more like the Tina we are seeing in season five. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Do we know that Jodi stayed? Jodi has her own place and that was puzzling me whether she was setting up Tina on the couch and then leaving her in Bette's place with her or not. Do you find this valuable? |

I think she meant prequel-like, as if they were together before the series began. Off the top of my head, I can't remember if they met at that party when the show started or it was a flashback scene. Or, did I imagine the whole thing?

That's just it. Tina always could stand on her own. She made a sacrifice for the relationship and to have their child. It seemed to me Tina kept losing sight of the fact they each had a situational role to play. Bette felt a lot of pressure with Tina leaving the work force and her sacrifice was not appreciated by Tina, in as much as Tina resented feeling dependent on Bette's financial support during the time was not a "bread-winner" as they say. Did they discuss that in therapy?

I believe that Tina was with a man when she and Bette met---I also remember some flash backs on Tina's behalf.......Bette did fine until Helena stepped in....

I think if she had shared her pain of losing their child and the stress she was under being the only bread winner with Tina instead of holding it all in she wouldn't have cracked and there wouldn't have been a carpenter in the picture. I am so calling the kettle black here because I do the same thing over and over. It's hard to let go when you know people are depending on you. You are always there for everyone else until you don't have anything else left not even to talk about yourself. I fell that was why Bette was able to let her self go with Candance she didn't have to be the strong one. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I think what was going through Bette's mind was she shouldn't have lied to Tina. Tina obviously got wasted because of what Bette told her about being in love with Jodi. She probably also was confused by Tina being there and Jodi being the one to bring her there. Bette and Tina have to start communicating and being truthful. They could be wonderful together, but they need to be honest.

I think Bette was more than puzzled to see Jodi being so nurturing to Tina. But Jodi has a tender side and obviously a side of her that cares for people. My opinoin, which may not be worth much, is that Tina actually had a good time. Didn't everyone see her laughing and dancing and just getting loose. While Tina was at the party she had no worries, and even if Bette and she did have a discussion regarding Bette's feelings toward Jodi, I don't think Tina thought that she was going to just go out there and get drunk to forget about it. Remember, Tina is now dead center in her career. What she is going through with her work is just as stressful as Bette trying to raise money for the museum she used to work for and kissing ass to all of the people who she needed money from to keep her position in the company. Even now in her position at the university she has major amounts of stress with her job. Bette acted like a spoiled brat child in leaving the party early. It was a great party! Wouldn't everyone have a blast there? Tina getting drunk and having fun was therapeutic. Whatever was going through Bette's mind when she was watching Tina is hard to say. Maybe she wanted to be the one covering her with the blanket. . .

When work is stressing you out the last thing you want is stress in your personal life as well. But how much fun would it have been to see Bette let loose for just one night. I would have loved to see her dancing and shaking that beautiful head of hair around, just one or two brownies would have done it. Ok in Bette's case it might have taken a few more but it sure would have been great to see. Do you find this valuable? |

" I think if she had shared her pain of losing their child and the stress she was under being the only bread winner with Tina instead of holding it all in she wouldn't have cracked and there wouldn't have been a carpenter in the picture.I can relate to that now too. My partner was a military officer carrying the household while I was in school. She used to look at homeless people with envy when she didn't think she could take the pressure. Of course, at the time I was dealing with my own stress and my insight into the plight of the poor through legal aid clinics made her plight seem overstated at best. Now, years later, I know what she was trying to relate to me. I was feeling totally dependent and she was feeling overwhelmed by that. Not a good situation for either. We went to therapy individually and together. It helped me, but seemed way too painful for her. Maybe others relate to this. They were together for the rough times, but maybe they have a chance to be together for the good times and that's what they need to choose or be left to wonder... 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Of course, at the time I was dealing with my own stress and my insight into the plight of the poor through legal aid clinics made her plight seem overstated at best.stress kills relationships even the strongest will fall under the pressure if you don't communicate honestly with your partner. Not just talk but tell them how you really feel and help each other see both sides. It took me a long time to embrace that lesson. In Bette and Tina's case they have to learn to trust each other again before anything else can be resolved. I think they have truly forgiven each other but trust takes longer. There's always that little bit of doubt in the back of your mind. It's easier to give your body then you mind in this situation. You love the person you miss them you want to feel their touch again. But you don't want to be hurt by them again and most of all you don't want to cause them anymore pain. So what do you do, you wait as long as you can and hope that person comes back to you. We have to continue to believe in that kind of fairytale love we want for them or why would we keep fighting to find it ourselves. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
