Discussion: Shane, how will she get out of this one?

"I like Shane I think she is the most complex character of them all. I hate they have never let her grow where the other characters have had that opportunity. Bette learned she couldn't always been in control, Tina took her power back, Helena learned what true friendships are, but Shane is the same person she was five years ago. I love how loyal she is to her friends she doesn't judge no matter what, that's what friends do but true friends call you on your bullshit they don't give you a free walk. To me that's the difference.

Shane hides behind sex, it her way of connecting but she has got to learn to respect herself and realize she deserves happiness. You can't do anything about your past but try to learn from it to not repeat the bad. What Phyliss did to her sucked, but come on what mother wouldn't feel that way? What her father did at her wedding was cruel, her mother giving her away, having to do what ever she could to survive all horrible things but none of those things can be changed.

She had a hard life but her actions are all hers, we can blame the world but in the dark of night it is still us who make our own choices no matter good or bad. Shane is the only one who can change Shane. I think that's what she really wants, when she was with Carmen we saw that. She was happy and only acted out when she got scared or something happened like Dana's death.

Deep down I think Shane wants her brother back and a family of her own she just doesn't know how because she never had a map to follow. But it will never change until she stops running away cause no matter how far you run you can't run away from yourself. She is her own worst enemy until she stands and makes a fight for her happiness no matter how much her friends love her they won't respect her choices. How can they when she doesn't, she left Carmen because of what her dad said, she let Molly go much the same way. Love is Love"
