Discussion: Shane- Next Season

"What would you want to see happen with the character Shane in the next season??

In regards to Shane I would like to see her confront her abandonment. As a viewer I would like to see what actually happened to her in the past. It is touched upon in the series but never fully explored. Having personally faced childhood trauma I can tell you that even as an adult you struggle so much with facing your fears or allowing someone to love you or to love another person. This show did such a terrific job with Jenny's character, the writers just really 'got it' the visuals that feeling of helplessness. It was not afraid to go that dark place and then -- come out of it. I guess I want to know what would happen to shane if she really did allow love in? Does it have to always be 'boring' does it always have to end with her 'looking elsewhere' . What would it look like if she stayed with someone and fought her demons. Almost like a detox--or withdrawal of past behavior. How can a story be interesting by taking on such a challenge. It seems that all hollywood stories have to create this drama, where a relationship ends because it becomes boring and dull and the damaged character self destructs or cheats etc. I know this happens in real life. But what would it look like, feel like if shane 'fought' to stay, this was touched upon with carmen but i want the show to go deeper, strip away the obvious-- if any show can do this well it is this one, because i have seen in the past shows -- bits of genious in the writing/acting"

"I would love to see Shane and Molly reunited in a permanent relationship. I loved it that they didn't get along at all in the beginning, but when they got together, "wham". I know that Jenny and Shane were close, but I would rather seen Shane and Molly together. They were great! I'd also like to see Shane reunited with Shay. The episodes where she seemed to focus so much on her brother, it was a wonderful transformation for her, to be responsible. In every case, though, I absolutely love her character."
