Discussion: Showtime announceds "L Word " Spinoff

"I know what you mean Katie, the spin off will have a hell of a lot to live up to, the bar has been set by The L Word thats for sure."

"Actually if you think about it - as long as the new show is about lesbians we'll probably all watch it. Face it - there isn't a lot of good movies or tv shows that center around the lesbian lifestyle. So whether it's good bad or indifferent - we'll watch. I'm just praying they give us something good to watch. With Irene behind the helm though - I'd say it's safe to bet it will be good. I just pray they get some real butches in there. Max was the closest to the butches from where I come from and he took it a little too far for my likes.

"We can all hope it will be good. I'll miss most of the characters no matter who they chose. I say my fav is Jenny, but I love each of them in their own way. For Bette & Tina it was their devotion to each other and how they stuck by each other no matter what curves were thrown their way. I'll also miss Alice... as she is funny as hell. Some of the things she says and does just cracks me up.

"if you watch and listen to IC interveiws she kinda gives us the ans. when she made the l word it center around 2 characters bette and jenny and everyone else are supporting characters. the character they had pick is jenny. but and this is key they are changing shane's character around. she is going to be with jenny as a couple. shane is going to be for jenny what tina is to bette. they have right now tons of ideal with these 2 as a couple. then to only use 1 of them. in a spin off."

"I think it's going to be both of them. Like i said before you can still center the spin off around jenny, but shane will be her best supporting character. You have to think like a writer and you have to think like the ceo of showtime. IC said she want to keep telling our stories. well since alice is taking time off for her music career. that leaves us with jenny sheis a writer and since alice can't do it she is the only one that can. you also have to remember she has always been the outsider of the group. that why she fits perfect for the spin off. now shane is jenny's soulmate and the only one who can keep her under control. now i know their are people saying what about epsoide 512. that why you have to watch IC recap of 512 and really listen to her interveiws she tells you that shane is going to fight for her true love which is jenny. and settle down with her. plus jenny is a very polar character . you either love her or you hate her but you are going to watch to what she dose next. while shane is the most like character on the show. the two of them together are a writer dream. that is why i think the 2 of them will be in the spin off. and also i think one of them is sign aready for it and they are working to sign the other one. "

"Yeah Im with you, Id like to see all the Ladies back in the spinoff, but if its not gonna happen and this will only centre around those actresses who have already signed up, then we will have to see where and what Ilene's ideas for the spinoff will be and where it will take us.

They could always have Bette and Tina coming on as special guests now and again, that would please everyone Im sure, it would certainly make me happy anyway. "

Yeah I would be thrilled too, if Tina and Bette could make guest appearances in the spin off."
