Discussion: Showtime announceds "L Word " Spinoff

"This afternoon at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles, Showtime entertainment president Robert Greenblatt announced that L Word creator Ilene Chaiken is currently developing a spinoff to the series, which will air its sixth and final season in early 2009.

Greenblatt said that shooting will begin on the spinoff directly after production wraps on Season 6, and it will star one of the actors from The L Word in a crossover.

Greenblatt also announced that Chaiken has decided that the end of Season 6 will include an open-ended component that will be carried onto the internet. If Showtime moves forward with the spinoff, that online story will segue into the new television series. The spinoff has not yet been titled."

"you are right on that note. that why think it will most likely be a shenny spin off. put yourself in IC shose for a few minutes : the actress playing bette is taking time off after season 6, the actress playing tina is currently working on a deal with fox and actress playing alice want to concentrate on her music career. so that leave shane and jenny. shane in her current state will not work. we just seen 6yrs of her having sex with anyone and falling in and out of love.her story lines always the same. now that just leave jenny and un less it's crazy jenny from season 5 you are not going to really wow the mass like you hope for. that why the best idea is the shenny. you can still make jenny the center of the spin off but now you have shane in a new roll as her lover and soulmate which she trying to do her now current story line in season 6. shane as supporting character works cause they can play off each other. plus with them as a couple IC can bring back past lovers, or how they get shay to live with them or how their career \ jenny having a baby mess with their relationship. "
