"The whole issue of whether or not there's 'closure' between Shane and Carmen is moot, because Sarah's not coming back, anyhow.

"As we know Carmen is one of the main character in season 3 and be the one who are so meaningful for Shane, if she did not come back and have a "closure" with Shane then what for she appear in the show and just leave like passenger??!"

"Not a chance. I've seen spoilers all the way up to episode five. And Carmen just showing up in the last 3 episodes and magically patching things up with Shane after three seasons? Not gonna happen."

"What for? Two words: plot device.

Carmen never had any storylines of her own. They always tied back into Shane's storylines somehow and it usually had something to do with how she dealt with being in a serious, long-term relationship for the first time. Though, more specifically, it showed how she dealt with essentially being forced into being part of a relationship she didn't fully want to be a part of and doing her best to deal with the repercussions. Shane is very sensitive and vulnerable and that makes her very easy to control -- all Carmen had to do was just *hint* that she might be hurt at something Shane might do (or refuse to do) and Shane would feel helpless and stuck. She didn't want to hurt Carmen, so she would almost always give in and give Carmen what she wanted, rather than the two of them talking things out as a couple. No, instead, it was all about what Carmen wanted and what Shane wanted was never even considered or inquired about -- it was all just Carmen's wants that had to be seen to and Shane having to see to them, lest she be accused of 'punishing' Carmen or 'resenting' her. Make no mistake, Carmen played lots of mind games with Shane.

It's really ironic and rather sad - here Shane is, so worried that she won't be good enough for Carmen or won't deserve her love, when it was Carmen who never deserved Shane. Shane bent over backwards to try to be the person Carmen wanted and it was never enough AND, on top of it all, it was probably the *worst* first relationship anybody could get caught up in, but especially Shane who has so many vulnerabilities a more selfish and unscrupulous person like Carmen would have no problem exploiting."
