Jenny's NOT dead, this is Alice's SCREENPLAY
Feb 15 2009, 10:35 AM EST | Post edited: Feb 15 2009, 10:35 AM EST
I think I just had an epiphany

Alice's screenplay that Jenny stole involves "a talk show host who's really fantastic and is dating a cop who's dark and broody, and they get caught up in a murder mystery"

Now, what couple in the lesbian character universe do you naturally think of when you hear "dark and broody" plus an Alice-like persona (bubbly, somewhat annoying)?

Why, Xena and Gabrielle, of course!

We've already got the first half, and OH! How convenient, she's a cop.

Jenny isn't dead (how could she be? Jenny IS I.C), we're watching the opening scene of Alice's screenplay, as Jenny imagines it. Of course, she's made herself the center of attention. As usual.

But hey, I.C., if you give me a Lawless/O'Connor sex scene, all if forgiven, from now until forever, the end

Hmmm interesting indeed. Id raither see Jenny alive, and 'only' dead in a screenplay, but I would like to really see Jenny smacked. Someone needs to smack her out of it already.
But truly I like Jenny as Jenny, just with a smack from Kit.
And someone least likely needs to show love, compassion, understanding and true
friendship, unconditional friendship to Jenny, not sex like Shane. She needs a true
friend who puts her in her place and at the same time shows her love. But in a sister
way, totally non sexual. They missed the mark here with Shane and Jenny.
The writers should have written in someone who took on Jenny, and showed her how
yeah youre a selfish prat but youre loved no matter what. Someone who Jenny would never hurt, not at all. Someone who Jenny would truly respect enough to even give her life, and not cause endless drama. Like Bette, Tina, Helena or Kit. It cant be Bette or Tina now as a true friend believes in you no matter what. Jenny doesnt believe Bette didnt have sex with Kelly.
If only... Jenny had someone who stood by her as a loyal friend only even when Jenny messes up all the time. Jenny needed someone who stood up to her and shouted her out, told her off, and then that very minute embraced her in her arms as a true friend, saying, 'no matter how you mess up, and push people away by your actions, am here for you, am never go away, cos I love you Jenny, even when youre dead wrong, which is often yanno? ...'And yes that the way it is' x But not a sexual relationship, that just voids it all for Jenny. Thats where Shane/Jenny mance missed the mark. She has no rock. Molly is perfect for shane, as she is a rock, though Shane let her go, and let her 'am less, so lets sex' attitude kick in and shags every skirt in sight yet again. That Nikki/Shane scenario is dead boring, how predicable rubbish.

yes, i agree weak on the writing if it happens to be a show within a show...that's kind of the reason I didn't like last season, focusing on Jenny & her movie, about the characters we're watching. It had the feel of lazy writing to me........And as far as Jenny being dead, it seemed odd to me that the EMS folks would pull the sheet from over Jenny's face as they pulled her through the living room particularly with a young child in the room. That didn't feel right, I've never seen that in all my years of TV and movie watching......

Such a great assumption. Remember when the season first started and the characters Adele and Molly were being interviewed minutes before the first episode aired and they were very playful saying, "what if she comes back to life (Jenny) or what if she is reincarnated? anything can happen." as if they had given something away. So I had some inkling that she was not dead... 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
